  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  1. In a large skillet, sauté onion and garlic in a bit of olive oil. Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  1. Stir in marinara, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  1. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
  1. In a 9x13" baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer 3 noodles, more sauce, a layer of ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella on top.
  1. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  1. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
